Qofte (Albanian Meatballs)

 These small, flavorful meatballs are popular across the country.



Ingredients:

  • 500g ground beef or lamb
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Mix the ingredients: Combine ground meat, onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, cumin, parsley, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  2. Form the meatballs: Shape the mixture into small balls.
  3. Cook: Fry in a pan with olive oil until brown on all sides or bake in the oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20 minutes.
